Ballydehob Jazz Festival 2019.
Thursday through to Monday, you couldn’t fault it. The people, music, weather, great vibes from start to finish. These are a few of my choice moments from those five days in May. I was around to photograph the Jazz Funeral Puppets at Dink’s workshop, a dress rehearsal of the parade, an impromptu session on the thursday as the first musicians arrived and began jamming together, many for the first time.
“T’ain’t no sin to take off your skin and dance around in your bones”
The Ballydehob Puppet Company’s workshop.
The End
You can find the rest of the story in full colour on the Ballydehob Jazz Festival social media channels. Black and white was the way I saw it. I made the decision to shoot colour for the festival’s records, press and grant applications for next year etc. Those cats don’t dig it otherwise. A handful will appear un the Arts Council’s image bank.
